Sustainability

We believe it is our responsibility to respect and protect the environment. Our approach is constantly evolving as we evaluate our strategy on social responsibility and address all levels of our supply chain.

Seed Heritage apparel and accessories are sourced from a range of countries, including China, India, Vietnam, and Australia. Our contract with each supplier is the same - we request transparency and the ability to check the conditions under which our product is made. The Brandbank Group Code of Supplier Conduct applies to all factories we work with, and compliance records must be signed and adhered to by both suppliers and third parties.

Our manufacturers, regardless of location, are audited and must adhere to ethical and social standards; we have zero tolerance for child labour, discrimination, corruption, bribery, or animal cruelty. Safe working conditions and fair pay must be ensured.

Our Culture

At Seed Heritage we value respect, honesty, and integrity. We are customer-centric, innovative, and passionate. We always aspire to do the right thing and to have a positive impact on the world – for our customers, our suppliers, our partners, and our employees. That starts with fostering an inclusive and safe workplace which prioritises employees’ wellbeing and happiness.

Our Partnerships

Seed Heritage supports a number of charitable organisations whose work we believe makes a difference. We will continue to honour our commitment to giving back throughout 2023 and beyond.

Make-A-Wish®

2022 was the fifth year of Seed Heritage’s partnership with Make-A-Wish® at Christmas to help grant life-changing wishes to critically ill children. Customers are invited to participate in by donating in exchange for beautiful festive gift packaging.

Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation

Through our ongoing partnership with the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation, we support their vital work in remote and disadvantaged communities across the country. Each year, Seed Heritage produces a limited-edition childrenswear piece, with all profits from its sale going straight to the ALNF.

Jeans for Genes

We run an annual campaign in support of Jeans for Genes Children’s Medical Research Institute, which is devoted to finding treatments and cures for genetic conditions which are currently incurable. During this period, $20 from the sale of full-price denim is donated to Jeans for Genes.

Sacred Heart Mission

Customers are encouraged to donate their pre-loved Seed pieces to Sacred Heart Mission with prepaid post satchels. This keeps quality garments out of landfill and helps support the organisation’s generous work within our community.

Our Standards

We have voluntarily adopted a very strict European Union standard which addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment, regulating substances such as lead, cadmium and a group of aromatic amines originating from a small number of synthetic azo dyes. We ban the manufacture and sale of goods that contain prohibited levels of specific hazardous substances, including azo dyes.

As a proud member of Better Cotton, we’re helping improve sustainable cotton farming around the world. Better Cotton aims to transform cotton production globally and exists to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. This involves training farmers in using water efficiently, caring for soil health and natural habitats by reducing harmful chemicals, and respecting the rights and wellbeing of cotton workers.

Seed Heritage is committed to reducing its environmental impact. Our shopping bags and packaging are made from 40% post-consumer content and are fully recyclable. This includes product labels and swing tags. Within the business, we’re phasing out single-use plastic and in our offices, we use recycled paper and favour sustainably sourced supplies.
